Caribbean Sea SpiderThis was an extremely rare find and a credit to the keen eye of my dive buddy Derik.
LionfishLionfish are striking (despite being an invasive species wrecking havoc on the reef systems of the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean). In this shot I wanted to focus on the details around the eye and mouth.
Caribbean Reef Shark
On the HuntLionfish are ambush predators, and this one is patiently waiting for a fish to swim by underneath.
LizardfishA pair of lizardfish perched on the sand. The trick is to silently approach so you can get a close shot without scaring them off.
Nurse SharkA slow and quiet approach and superb buoyancy control will let you get close enough to get a shot with minimal water in between you and the nurse shark.
Nothing to See HereStingrays are experts at camouflaging themselves in the sand.
Spotted TrunkfishThe spotted trunkfish always looks like its happily whistling a tune while swimming along the reef.
Sunrise at SeaThe view from the bow of the Aquacat live aboard boat each morning. Perfect setting to enjoy a cup of coffee before breakfast and a day full of diving.
